Sunday, 1st Feb 2009

A family run company for over 20 years, Wade Sawmill produces high quality wood products in an environmentally friendly and ecological sustainable way.

Committed to being environmentally responsible, Wade Sawmill aims to not only meet best industry practice, but reflects the truly sustainable nature of wood.

The timber used by the sawmill is from purpose built plantations and sustainably harvested forests. Hardwood plantations owned by Wade Sawmill play an important role in absorbing atmospheric carbon dioxide.

The plantation not only helps to make Wade Sawmill a zero emission mill, it is an example of the proactive steps being taken by companies in the Australian timber industry to promote sustainable development.

Wade Sawmill also places a strong emphasis on the recyclability of wooden products, with 95 per cent of all excess wood being re-used and recycled. Whether it is turning wooden clippings into garden mulch or transforming pine sawdust into particle boards, Wade Sawmill understands the versatile nature of wood and uses it to implement strategies which promote environmental sustainability.

This commitment to environmental responsibility has contributed to the company’s success, with Wade Sawmill being listed in Business Review Weekly’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies and being named the Best Medium Sawmill in Queensland.

Through implementing a zero emission policy and placing a strong emphasis on re-using all excess wood, Wade Sawmill reflects the successful and environmentally responsible nature of the Australian timber industry.
